Brandon Michael Collins



Brandon Michael Collins’ musical experience spans genres, but his attention to craft attests to his devotion to the art of composition.  His study of classical piano; experience in the Phoenix Boys Choir, Renaissance ensembles, and church orchestras; and performance in bands, L.A. clubs, and label showcases have provided a wide array of musical influences.

In 2007, The Ahn Trio, a New York based piano trio, premiered his piece Airplane after the Laguna Beach Music Festival selected Collins as an emerging composer.  2008 and 2009 brought premieres of chamber works at the Ecole Normale de Musique’s Salle Cortot in Paris, France.

During this time, Brandon also worked on cues for the branding of the cable network Lifetime as well as orchestrating and producing for several pop/rock albums.  Collins received his Masters in Theory and Composition from Cal State Fullerton in 2009 and served as the Speaker Coordinator for The Film Music Guild Conference, which featured the creative team from Pixar’s Up.

Brandon studied orchestration with JAC Redford and aided him on scores like James Horner’s The Amazing Spider-man and Thomas Newman’s The Iron Lady.

Brandon's arranging serves both recorded albums and live performances and has appeared on the Magical World of Disney and with such artists as U2 and OneRepublic.

As a songwriter, Brandon often collaborates with Brent Kutzle of OneRepublic, co-authoring the OneRepublic song Kids, and has also worked with Micah Tyler, Travis Ryan, Brenton Brown, and Matt Redman.

As a keys player, Collins has performed with Michel Teló and the Blue Man Group on the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards, and artists Travis Ryan, Phil Wickham, Christian Chávez, Anahi, Christopher von Uckermann, and Whissell.
